Pool Closure Due to Mastic Replacement

Paseo Westpark has contracted with Blue Balance to replace the mastic in the pool areas. This will require that the pool areas be shut down for 5 days in order to allow the mastic to dry. The schedule for the project is below:

SANTA CLARA POOL

CLOSED MONDAY, APRIL 18^TH – FRIDAY, APRIL 22^ND

SANTA CRUZ POOL

CLOSED MONDAY, APRIL 25^TH – FRIDAY, APRIL 29^TH

The pool areas will be reopened by the weekend provided that the mastic has adequately cured. The pool areas may not be accessed at all while the mastic is drying. The gates will be chained and locked. Any resident caught entering the pool area will be called to a hearing and fined, and will be held financially responsible for any damage done to the mastic.

Mastic replacement is a regular part of pool area maintenance. The mastic is a sealant in between the concrete surrounding the pool that expands and contracts as the weather changes. It helps to prevent water intrusion, which can cause damage to the pool area. Over time, it will start to break down and crack, and it is important to replace it when this happens.
